Homemade Hat

That was the indoor craft activity of the day. I suppose this type of hat would fit most 2 year olds...it is a little small for Bix.

Figure Skating

It is Bix' new pastime. She sees one clip of an ice skater, and suddenly she is Peggy Fleming shouting "look at me...I'm skating" all over the house. Here is a sequence of photos capturing her axle.

To the Doctor

Bix had her two-year check-up today. We were a little concerned the office would be closed, but Dr. P braved the ice, and we slipped our way down the icy streets, and they welcomed us with open arms. Everything was a-OK. 27 pounds and 35 inches tall. Bix braved through one last booster shot, and then we went to IHOP to celebrate.

Cold Outside...Warm Inside

Bix spent most of the day inside (at Grandma and Poppo's having a grand time.) Tonight we all took it easy in front of the fire. We'll see what kind of weather tomorrow brings.

Kids Eat Free

All weekend long at Steak n Shake. If you are lucky, they also give you one of these cool hats so you can play the home version.

Bix likes serving up 'coffee' and 'diet coke' out of her watering can. She'll pour for anyone who is thirsty, but sometimes she worries that the drink might be too hot...

Marching

Some people march to the beat of their own drum...Bix marches to the Recorder.

Baby, it's Cold Outside

Look at what that cold, dry air does to our little curly-top.


Oh well, that doesn't stop Bix from having a good time...we can stay inside all day building Legos and popping popcorn.

Taking a Walk

Bix is always on the move, and she can't stand to be cooped up indoors. She spends all morning playing at the playground, takes a walk around the block, stops for a brief nap, and then it is time to stroll around the lake and chase the ducks.


It doesn't matter if it is 80 degrees or 40 degrees (like it was in this picture). Bix comes inside only for food or sleep or if we trick her.

Bix Loves to Help

With this little bit of cold weather we thought we'd build a fire. Bix insisted that she help Daddy. We weren't sure, but she proved to us that not only could she haul fire wood...she liked doing it.


We are going to test her with some more manual labor soon. Hmmm...I wonder if she can handle a lawn mower?

Look out Jennifer Beals, Bix has brought leg warmers into the new millennium. With the weather the way it has been around here we don't know whether it is hot or cold..this look covers both.

12th Night

For the kick-off of Mardi Gras season Bix needed a fabulous new addition to her wardrobe. Thankfully some quick and clever inspiration from DesignMom came to the rescue.


This purple, green and gold tutu took about 45 minutes to make and cost less than ten dollars. Plus, it goes with everything. We are all loving it!

Brrrrr

That is what we were all saying yesterday...all of us except Bix. Once she puts on her tiger hat she is ready for anything. Bring on the snow, sleet or rain...Bix loves the cold.

Little Picasso

Bix is getting really serious about her art. This little easel from IKEA has been a wonderful addition.

Football Anyone?

What are you doing today (yesterday and tomorrow)? If you are anything like Bix you are on your couch watching Bowl Games. Isn't that a great way to start the new year? Especially if all the games are like the Chick-fil-a Bowl.


Bix watched so much she fell asleep right in front of the TV.
