Easter Weekend 2014

What a wonderful time we had this weekend celebrating Our Risen King!!  CiCi and Grandmommy were here for a visit, there were two Easter egg hunts, a soccer game, eggs to dye, cookies to make and the joy of serving at church.

We started out at the Chase Oaks Church Egg Hunt.  Big sis helped Fi out, a little.

There was a lot of fun on the inflatables

Bix helped serve hot dogs

Fi helped eat them

After the soccer game, it was time for the HNHA egg hunt.  Fi was first up.

Bix got the traditional Easter-Tiger face paint

Lots of fun with friends! Gwen, Claire and Peter

Fi on the train with Lexi

Daddy even got on the train this year

Balloon flower for Fi

Bix went with the monkey-on-a-tree balloon

 Lots of bouncing too!

CiCi brought the girls some incredible Easter baskets

Best tasting "carrot" ever

There was jewelry included!

Grandmommy brought lots of treats, including a belated birthday present

And cards with $$$

Later we dyed eggs and made resurrection cookies.  Then it was off to bed.

Bright and early, Bix got us up to see what the Easter Bunny brought.

Baskets full of more treats!

Then it was outside for more egg hunting

Can't wait to tear into those treats.

So much happiness!

Time for breakfast, and then to church.

Breakfast, and then "good-bye"  We had a terrific weekend!  Miss you already.

Grandma TooToo

She went to be with Jesus this weekend.  We will miss her, but we have lots and LOTS of wonderful memories with her.  An amazing lady that we all admire...she leaves a wonderful legacy of family, faith and love.  There is big celebration going on in heaven right now!  We love you TooToo!!

Happy Anniversary

We celebrated nine years on Wednesday.  These two put on an amazing post-dinner show for us!  Who needs Vegas?

Shirley Temple

Rest in peace.  Thank you for all the memories...

and inspiration.

Olympic Birthday

With her 7th birthday falling on the same day as the Opening Ceremonies, of course Bix had to have an Olympics-themed party.

Chocolate-coin medals for everyone

A little gold to take home

Olympic rings decor

All-American paper goods...U-S-A!

Easy decorating with the new Olympic pictograms

Flag banner

Simple snacks

Hockey puck ding-dong anyone?

When the kids arrived, the each decorated their own flag (and mom glued a dowel to them for later)

The red, white, and blue Gatorade was a big hit with all the little olympians

After all the games and cake, we had medal presentations and a Parade of Nations (led by the birthday girl)

Then, of course, we had a snowball (marshmallow) fight!

The best part about the whole thing?  Wonderful friends...

And this guy...at the middle of it all:)

Bix said the party was "AWE-some!"

We had a lovely dinner, but this photo says it all...exhausted.
