Pigtails

Bix is getting to be such a big girl (and she has so much hair) we thought it was time for a new hairdo.

Fireworks

Bix saw some great ones on Saturday night.

Since we couldn't get a good shot of her face during the fireworks...here is a facial reinactment.

When I hear the word "fireworks", this tune always jumps into my head.

Mama Mia

Bix asks to hear ABBA quite frequently. She says, "turn it on" and "music, music". This is her favorite...even though she is seemingly distracted by magazines, sunglasses and a watermelon.

...and in case you were wondering...this was all shot during one playing of the song.

Bix Has a Question

"Is this financial bailout gonna effect my farm subsidy?"

Walk the Dolly

Bix' new favorite activity.

Of course she must be properly attired for such an event.

Lovin' Hot Springs Village

Bix had quite a time with her grandparents in Arkansas this week.
After driving half way around the country, Poppo's truck was in serious need of a good wash, and Bix couldn't wait to help.

Grandma got her fitted for a helmet, and Bix tried to ride a bike. (Better luck in a few years.)

The water was a little chilly, but that didn't stop Bix. She kept asking to go swimming in the "pool-lake".

There was also plenty of down time, and Bix was able to catch up on some of her reading.

Driving the boat also helped us pass the time.

Bix really really did not want to leave.

She changed her tune when she found out she was going to ride on an airplane. This time Bix got to sit in a seat all by herself. My she is getting to be a big girl.

Bix also took this time to entertain the rest of the passengers.

That's Amore

We went to dinner to celebrate Stacey's birthday.

What a difference a year makes.

This time we let Bix eat off her own plate. Mmm...mmm...spaghetti! She loved it.

Storm Chaser

Another great adventure for Bix in Louisiana! After the excitement of Gustav...she had to check out Ike.
First we headed down to Winnfield for a visit with the "birthday girl" Mami.

We celebrated with a very nice dinner at a restaurant overlooking the water. With Ike close at hand, the view was somewhat obscured by the boarded up windows.

That didn't stop Bix from having a great time with her cousins Ethan and Elle Ann.

When we returned to Shreveport there was no electricity, so we went to bed in the dark.

In the morning, Bix got up bright and early to survey the damage. (nothing too serious)

Then it was time for Bix to tend to some of CiCi's gardening.

On our way out of town we stopped at Strawn's for some dinner...and strawberry pie.

We are headed to Florida next month...hopefully there will be no more hurricanes for Bix to see.

Bix Loves to Travel

So much so...she is off again.

Have a great weekend!

11 September 2008

Wheeeeeeee!

Being a kid is great.

It's a Bird, It's a Plane...

It's Super-Bix!

She is here to save the day, and to celebrate our 300th post! Hooray for Super-Bix! Hip, hip, hooray.

Green Thumb

Bix is very serious about her garden.

She will be happy whether or not anything grows...it is all about the process.

Happy Birthday

What better way to celebrate than in her birthday suit. Can you believe it was 19 months ago that Bix entered the world?! Frankly, I can hardly remember a time without her.
Listen closely...that is Bix singing Happy Birthday to herself after mommy and daddy.

Visit to Shreveport

Bix had a wonderful vacation at CiCi and Pops' this weekend. So many things to do and people to see.
First on the list was Aunt KK and the "puppy".

She tried to teach Kosmo new tricks, and tempted him with some turkey.

After a big meal, it was time for lounging poolside.

Then of course there was more to eat. Bix is such a lucky girl...she gets fed by two of her great-grandmothers!

Bix is quite the extrovert. You have heard of people talking to fences...this girl was able to make friends with a statue.

Gustav did not hit quite as hard as they thought it would up here in Northern Louisiana.

There was some wind and a little rain, but Bix and Pops were able to have a good laugh over the whole thing.

Bix is ready for another trip soon. Thanks Pops and CiCi. you made this Labor Day weekend memorable for all!

We had a great time in Taos...but are fairly sure that it can't compete with a weekend full of Bix.
